LCI's Basket Granulator Extruder is the lowest pressure extruder available. The wet mix, which is typically prepared in a kneader, pug mixer or high shear granulator (pharma), is metered into the feed hopper by a feeder or hand fed.
Materials are gravity fed into the granulator and are wiped through perforated screens by extrusion blades creating cylindrical extrudates of a controlled diameter. Extrudates then fall onto a rotating table for discharge to the next processing step.
